For whatever reason, sometimes we make mistakes. Fear not. VCB provides you with options to maintain your account in good standing (and save face if this ever happens to you).
Overdraft Privilege helps protect you against having your items returned in the event of inadvertent overdraft of your account by giving you a reserve for emergencies or unexpected situations. There is no fee for having this privilege on your account, you are only charged if you use the service.

If you overdraw your checking account, a Freedom Account will spare you the inconvenience of returned checks and overdraft charges. Here’s how it works.
When you complete the Freedom Account application which is available at any of our convenient branch locations and it is approved by us, you are actually taking out a line of credit that can be applied to any little emergency, such as overdrawing your checking account.
If you overdraw your checking account, your Freedom Account line of credit is automatically activated. You are spared the inconvenience of returned checks and overdraft charges. With the Freedom Account, we simply bill you monthly payments, as if you had taken out a loan.
So if you want to guarantee that your checks are always good, ask us about the Freedom Account today. To get started, there’s a setup fee of $18 and an annual fee of $30 thereafter.
